New project in Skövde, Sweden

Trafsys has won the order to supply a new video surveillance and incident detection system for the Skultorp Tunnel in Skövde, Sweden, comprising cameras and software for advanced real-time image analysis. Our customer is Bravida Sverige.

The system will provide a visual picture of the traffic environment and trigger an alarm to the Traffic Management Centre when incidents occur that are classed as abnormal, e.g. fires, wrong-way drivers, stopped vehicle, pedestrians, fallen object and queue build-up.

The Skultorp Tunnel is nearly 300 meters long and is located just to the south of Skövde between Sweden's two largest lakes, Vänern and Vättern, in the central southern part of the country. Comprising two lanes in each direction, it passes under the armored vehicle training area of the Swedish Armed Forces and is therefore also called the “Pansar” (Eng: armour) Tunnel.
